Grand Canyon - Conquer The Canyon

Since beginning The Walking Connection in 1989, we have had the pleasure of leading people on the most exciting adventures to some of the most exotic, beautiful and important destinations in the world. From the wonders of the tectonic motion of Iceland to wildlife of Kenya and South Africa; from the volcanoes of Indonesia to the glaciers in Alaska; from the vastness of navigating the Amazon to the Himalaya from both India and China, we have personally seen some of Earth's greatest natural treasures. And few if any compare to Grand Canyon. This is the crown jewel of the North American landscape and The Walking Connection has the distinct honor and pleasure sharing it with you and our growing list of .ORG Partners.

The Conquer The Canyon Team of more than 60 independent guides, local and Arizona staff have successfully shared the beauty, history and mysteries of this grandest of chasm on Earth with more than 3300 dreamers, hikers and adventurers -- people just like YOU!

Its beauty is overwhelming, but like every rose, it comes with thorns. Simply, it is one of the harshness environments on Earth. It is a place where water is precious and rare, a place where nearly freezing temperatures at night can turn to 120 degree temperatures in the heat of the same day. Through the training of our expert guides and development of our comprehensive program, we are proud to tell you that over 96% of the people of who visit Grand Canyon with us, provide a favorable rating of all aspects of our program. Here are just a few things they have had to say about Conquer The Canyon and The Walking Connection. We have many more on file and this year will begin an on-line guest book where you can post your experience as well.

"Greetings from Nova Scotia!

Thank you for the wonderful pictures.

Let me take this opportunity to thank both you and Gene for a wonderful once in a life time experience. If someone would have told me, say 10 years ago, that I was going to hike the Grand Canyon I would have told them they were crazy. I guess it is nice not know what life will bring us. This trip was a great accomplishment for me in many ways and one that I am very grateful to have had.

Of course the successful this adventure had a lot to do with the people who made it happen such as yourself and Gene. Not to mention the Arthritis Society and the other participants from across the Country.

Once again thank you for making this an excellent adventure:)

Sincerely,

M. Richard"

"The guides were excellent – very knowledgeable and allowed for plenty of silence & introspective time as well as provided lots of info about the geology, history, flora & fauna, plus answering our questions thoroughly.
