More than Making
Memories.....Changing Lives.
Genesis International Orphanage
Foundation (GIOF) has a mission of supporting children
who are the most impoverished and at risk in Baja, Mexico. GIOF
is a U.S. not-for-profit organization that raises funds and awareness
for the work of Genesis Diez, A.C., a Christian ministry in Ensenada,
Mexico serving orphan, indigenous migrant, and disabled children
in the Baja region. Through the work of GIOF and Genesis Diez, A.C.,
these children are given educational and spiritual experiences,
food, and medical care. Groups of volunteers from the U.S. and other
countries travel to Baja to engage in learning activities with the
children, to take them on educational trips, and to provide them
with experiences to broaden their horizons and give them positive
memories.

Grand
Canyon Adventure
April 29 - May 2, 2011
Genesis Diez, A.C. (Genesis)
currently provides full time care for several disabled children.
Genesis is in need of a permanent facility to house these children,
who are often abandoned by their families due to lack of resources
to care for their children. Genesis has located a perfect house
in Maneadero, south of Ensenada. The purpose of this fundraising
campaign and celebration hike is to purchase and remodel this house
to serve as a home for disabled children under Genesis’ care.
The home, which will also be developed into a resource center for
the disabled and their families, will be called Puerta Hermosa (“Beautiful
Gate”). As it is developed, Puerta Hermosa will also contain
a donation distribution center, the Genesis office, and staff housing
for Genesis long-term missionaries and caregivers for the disabled
children.
